Two hooks on a pulley line lift a kayak, canoe, bike or ladder of up to 125 lb toward a ceiling as high as 12 feet, and a rope brake holds it there while you tie off.
Load capacity125 lb
Ceiling heightUp to 12 ft
MountingParallel or perpendicular to the joists
LockAutomatic rope brake that pinches the rope on every pull
You pull, the boat rises, and the brake pinches the rope on every stroke, so letting go of the line does not drop the hull. That is why one person can raise a kayak alone. When the boat is up, the spare rope goes round the wall cleat in the box.
The two brackets mount along or across your joists, whichever way the boat should hang. The hooks are rubber-coated and carry straps, so the hull rests on webbing rather than bare metal. Pick the 2-hoist pack if two boats share the garage. The gray finish is the same hoist in a lighter color.

Before you start
You will work overhead or at the top of a stud wall, so set the ladder on a level floor, face it and keep a hand on it while you drive the screws. Fasten the brackets into solid framing (a joist, a rafter or a stud), never into drywall alone, and read the instructions in the box first.
